After hitting a scintillating century in Mumbai, Indian cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli went past Australian legend Ricky Ponting and became second highest ODI century maker after Sachin Tendulkar who still heads the list with 49 ODI tons. Now, Kohli has 31 ODI centuries to his name while Ponting had 30 such centuries. With this century, Kohli also equalized his total number of international centuries with Rahul Dravid. Both Kohli and Virat have now 48 international centuries as Virat has hit 31 ODI centuries and 17 test centuries while Dravid had scored 36 test centuries and 12 ODI centuries in his whole career.
Now, Virat Kohli is joint 8th with Rahul Dravid in the list of leading centurions in international cricket. Kohli is now behind Sachin Tendulkar (100), Ricky Ponting (71), Kumar Sangakara (63), Jacques Kallis (62), Mahela Jayawardene (54), Brian Lara (53) and Hasim Amla (51). South African Ab de Villiers is closely following Virat with 45 international centuries.
