Less than thirty days after Ram Gopal Yadav was expelled from the SP, he was today reinstated.
According to press release issued by the party, Ram Gopal Yadav expulsion stands annulled effective immediately. What’s more, he will continue to be the party’s Rajya Sabha leader, its general secretary, spokesperson and member of the central parliamentary board.
“Yeh toh hona hi tha. Party mein wapsi hai Netaji ki kripa hai. Netaji kabhi mere khilaaf nahi the,” pointed out Ram Gopal.
It is worthwhile pointing out that On October 24, the SP, which has not yet completely recovered from its internal battle, had expelled Ram Gopal, supporter of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
The expulsion of Ram Gopal Yadav was seen as retaliation for the sacking of Shivpal Yadav from the state cabinet. Shivpal Yadav had accused Ram Gopal of attempting to divide the party at the behest of the BJP.
Few days back, the party’s parliamentary board, which had met to select its new Rajya Sabha leader, could not decide for the substitute of Ram Gopal.
Samajwadi Party is the third-biggest party in the Rajya Sabha with 19 members. Yesterday, Ram Gopal had spoken on the currency crisis criticizing the Narendra Modi government for its lack of preparedness in order to deal with the situation.
