Impact
Quaisar Alam, New Delhi
Cold War or no Cold War, the mock war
of game continues in the greater part of the Russo-Central Asian
Countries. Russia and four CIS countries staged war games on October16
just to showcase a new NATO-style rapid reaction force designed to
cement Moscow’s hold over allies in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The combating forces were on to react
corresponding to the developments of the whole area for the smooth
functioning of the Kremlin and the Central Asian States. On the hand the
demonstration was going on at the same time, the Russian forces were on
the look out for the restoration of faith of t he armed forces against
the insurgents. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Russia and
Tajikistan looked on as the forces of more than 7,000 personnel carried
out a mock attack to destroy “insurgents” who had taken control of a
chemical plant.
This operation was probably intending
to address the ongoing problems regarding the smoke arose from a
dew-drenched firing range in the Kazakh steppe, revealing paratroopers
landing from helicopters and storming a building to rescue hostages.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
arrived at the Soviet-era firing range in a helicopter and wore
desert-style camouflage uniforms created by Russian fashion designer
Valaentin Yudashkin. “The uniform is success. I for one feel comfortable
in it,” Medvedv said, “I hope soldiers will not freeze in it either.”
Russia is on the offensive mode and
forming the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a military
alliance among former Soviet republics as a counterweight to NATO.
Needless to add, the organization commits members to defend each other
if attacked. |
