Sonu Nigam to do Rajat Mukherjee’s next film titled Nepal

The singer-turned actor recently saw the release of his film Kaash.. Aap Humare Hote. Though he doesn’t consider his debut work Jaani Dushman to be an ideal launch or even close to it, Nigam claims that if his second film would’ve been his debut, he would’ve been happy. But then there are some things that just can’t be undone. Sonu however, is high in spirits, as his work in ‘KAHH’ has been quite appreciated. But what has gotten him in even higher spirits is Nepal – a Rajat Mukherjee film, which he has been signed for. Well talk about ‘going places’.

Bipasha: Ruling the Heroes!

Being the leading lady in a film…the bombshell Bipasha is all out to rule some of the biggest heroes in Bollywood. For Gaurang Doshi's next mega project – Deewar – Let’s Bring Our Heroes Home Bips has been roped in as the leading lady. The only single leading actress in a project that stars biggies like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna. Now that sure proves Bipasha’s unfailing popularity with the filmi circuit and of course the janta. And that also rings the siren for the other actresses in her league – ‘Watch out, the Bong babe Bipasha is out there to give you a big blow!’

Vivek Oberoi to produce a film?

Is there no limit to this guy’s talent? After wowing the audiences with his performances in films such as Company, Road, Saathiya and Dum, Vivek Oberoi, claim the gristmill, is all set to produce his own film. And what better company to help him co-produce it than mentor Ramgopal Varma's Corporation’? However, when we spoke to the actor, he claimed to be too tied up with his current spate of films to even venture in that direction. “I can’t even manage my own dates right now,” he says, in between smoothly jumping from one schedule to another for Ramgopal’s Darna Mana Hai and Sameer Karnik’s Kyon Ho Gaya Na . “I have so many things to do that venturing into production doesn’t look like my cup of tea. But yes, I have been toying with a script. Whether that will turn out into a film or not, is difficult to say.” Well, all we can say is, the opportunity still lies waiting. Go on Vivek, maybe it’s time you took the plunge. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for you!

Aishwarya Rai as Draupadi

If winter comes can spring be far behind? In other words, if Salman dons the mantle of a Hindu God’s avatar, wouldn’t his ex flame (or is it his present?) Aishwarya do the same? Raj Kumar Santoshi, who has his hands full with two mega projects underway, has just announced another grand launch of a mammoth production based on the legend of our epic, the Mahabharata. And the only name finalised so far for the three-hour long international cast is that of Ash’s, as Draupadi. There are talks on with Ajay Devgan, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Suneel Shetty to play other pivotal characters in the Rs. 115 crore film. With her stars on the ascendent, it is every director’s dream to cast her in his film. And Ash is more than willing to make hay while the sun shines, bagging every big opportunity that comes her way. But insiders reveal that the aforesaid film is a ruse to get even with former beau, Salman, who has decided to play Lord Rama in a film. Playing offscreen games in reel life characters, Ash? Let’s wish for your sake, the outcome of such a move, is a victory for you, unlike in real life!

Sonali: Going regional

She will finally fulfil her dream- about doing a film in her mother tongue, Marathi. When asked about it the exuberant Sonali Bendre can’t hide her excitement as she says, "Amol Palekar had approached me last year for Anaahat. I could not squeeze out the dates then. This year when he again reminded me I immediately said yes," she said. Sonali further informed that Anaahat was to be a Hindi film earlier. "Now it’s being made in Marathi," she said. It will be a start to finish schedule. They will begin shooting in Hampi, Karnataka. "The schedules are so tight that I cannot even make out time for Rinke Khanna’s wedding in Delhi," she cried. Sonali is quick to clarify that there has been no dearth of Hindi film offers. "I’m just not interested in the kind of work that is being offered to me. I want to do meaningful roles now," she said.

Abhishek Bachchan: Completes Main Prem Ki Deewani

Abhishek Bachchan may not have a superduper hit to his credit as yet, but junior AB is well on his way to superstardom. The actor has just completed two promising films – the first being Sooraj Barjatya’s Main Prem Ki Deewani co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. Although Abhishek isn’t playing the lead in this film, sources claim that he’s got quite an interesting role in the film which the Barjatyas are striving to keep under wraps. In fact, they’re planning to keep Abhishek out of the publicity, as a surprise for the audience. Oops… have we let the cat out of the bag? Yawn. On second thoughts, we think it was already out! The other film Abhishek has just completed is titled Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost.
