An Endangered Generation

  DANFES

The print and electronic media in in India, mindlessly glamourise, sensationalise and publicise shocking acts of crime as if he or she in the generation next, who was unashamedly criminal and outrageous in conduct deserved to be crowned with national honours like Criminal of the Day, Criminal of the Year or National Criminal. The moral and social epidemic, which started from the political and bureaucratic corridors of metropolitan cities is now spreading to the small towns and villages. Delhi has acquired the dubious distinction of being the Crime Capital of India. Mumbai is the Crime Capital of Maharashtra, Chennai is the Crime Capital of Tamil Nadu, Patna is the Crime Capital of Bihar, Kolkatta is the Crime Capital of West Bengal. The way these cities and their misguided, misdirected and missminded youth are staggering ahead on the path of rage, rape, riotous conduct, steeling for thrill, robbing for quick buck and assaulting women of all ages to prove their beastly urge to establish gender domination, one gets the shocking visions of a hell of an India festering with depravity, ugly Indians and an unashamed criminal generation.

The Third Eye does not want to blame the generation next only for the degeneration which is eating up their body and soul like a deadly new AIDS virus. And it makes them immune to both physical and moral, fatally festering, morbidities which will eat them up like a vicious variety of physical-moral cancer. It wants to make all of you ponder and investigate the causes of this mad rat-race towards total self destruction of the new generation and future of India.

Let us look behind the horrors reported every day in the newspapers and the news channels on the idiot box. Gangrapes are reported in all the morbid and disgusting detail as if some one was keen to describe every unnecessary and irrelevant detail on a big porno mural by a classical painter. Cases of car hiests told us daily that sons of the affluent bureaucracy, children of powerful politicians and young bucks belonging to families of rich businessmen and industrialists were among the high-class criminals.

Physical violence, ranging from road rage fracas leading to grievous injury and often to death, was becoming an everyday occurence. Pornography and sexual and cyber crimes were also becoming the preserve of the scions of the neo-rich and super-tech families, public schools, IITs and so on. It simply meant that all links between education, technology and a safe and decent society were fast snapping and all roads led to crime and criminal element in the new generation which considered itself beyond the reach of law and justice.

Not only these young boys and girls of the sudden-rich families but their parents also, firmly believed in the sick philosophy that everything and everyone could be bought for a price, be it the law enforcing agencies, political bosses or now even some sections of judiciary. The criminalisation of the children and the youth of the neo-affluent middle class and the upper-middle class began at home. Can sociologists and look at the phenomenon and tell us whether it had something to do with genetic causes and flourishing of the criminal genes in the new traits of their young ones. As a wise pundit said, "balatkar bhi pehle sanskar men hota hai" –that is even the tendency of being a rapist is inducted from the genetic heritage. The view is worth examining so that, if we are really intent on protecting our nation against the future shock of massive criminalisation of the society, we can start at the source and first try to identify and cure the parents of those young boys and girls who have become living examples of a fast growing criminal India.

Among the traits of a typical new generation criminal are that he is a fast car driver, he likes to drink hard and live fast, his language is generally arrogant and foul, he thinks car heisting is fun, stealing is thrill, rape is the test of a mucho male and buying up crooked law enforcers and bureaucrats is demonstration of good business management. Who puts all these ideas in their vermin-infested minds? Is it the class and status-mongering of their parents? Is it the desire to live hard and fast and die young before they have any serious responsibilities and challenges to face? Are they sick in the mind because they have remained untouched by parental care and were left to their own resources to pick up the facts of life, as they see them, from the gutters and sleezed streets of the ugly metros?

Perhaps the dying and fading neo-rich generation was so busy making their ill gotten wealth that they had no time for their children.

The Third Eye accuses you all, ladies and gentlemen, of turning your own children into little monsters, growing older as a menace to themselves and to the nation at large but you take pride of your eye buzzing life style. You neither tought your children decent language, nor decent thought and behavior.

The core issue is : Will history ever pardon you for the genocide you have committed in putting the new generation onto a purposeless, rudderless and immoral journey towards nowhere ? Think, shudder and be ashamed? If you really have something in your defence, do write to us.
