S. Majumdar, Director (Projects) assumes additional charge of POWERGRID CMD


Shri S. Majumdar, Director (Projects) of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID) will also hold the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director of the Navratna PSU. Dr. R. P. Singh relinquished the charge of CMD after being at the helm of the company for 12 years.

Sh. Majumdar has assumed the additional charge of CMD w.e.f. May 30, 2008 for a period of three months or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Sh. Majumdar has been Director (Projects) of POWERGRID since 27.09.2005. He possesses more than three decades of work experience in different power sector utilities such as NTPC and DVC. A mechanical engineer from Calcutta University, Sh. Majumdar holds Diploma in General management from Delf University, Netherlands and Diploma in Public Sector Management from Bradford University, U.K.
