The Right
Click of the Mouse
 There
are several things you can do by just using the right click of
the mouse -- an option that many PC users never think about.
For instance, you can copy files from one folder to the other.
Here’s how: Just select the file, click the right button of
the mouse, and select the copy option. Now go to the folder
you want to move it to, and just paste it there, by using the
same right click menu and selecting paste. You can also delete
the file from the original folder and then paste it on to the
new folder. The only danger is that if the power goes off when
you are doing that, your file would have gone into the recycle
bin and become unrecoverable. |

Dismissed __ BY TV.
None other than Sachin Tendulkar
has the distinction of being the first cricketer to be given
out by the evidence of a television replay. It happened on the
second day of the first Test against South Africa on 14
November, 1992. Tendulkar, on 11, chanced a quick single to
--- of all people --- Jonty Rhodes, at backward point. Rhodes
threw to the stumps where Andrew Hudson moved in to break the
wicket. Square leg umpire Cyril Mitchley signaled for a
replay, which showed that Tendulkar was out. |

From
Alphabets To A Newspaper
It
was only in the 1820s that native Americans developed a written
language. The credit for this goes to a Cherokee leader sequoya.
The type of alphabet used for Cherokee is known as syllabary,
and the language itself has very few words. However a precise
system for elaborating words makes descriptions easy. And once
the language was developed the native Americans took to it
eagerly and in 1828 even published a bilingual newspaper using
both Cherokee and English! |

INSECTIVOROUS PLANTS!
Venus
flytraps are amazing insect-eating plants. Unwary insects
looking for a safe landing place are innocently lured to the
leaves of this plant. These leaves are far from safe. The moment
an insect brushes the sensitive hairs on the leaf’s surface,
these hairs snap shut in a fraction of a second like a pair of
jaws. Then there’s the pitcher plant, which has traps shaped
like jugs or pitchers at the end of its leaves. Insects are
lured to the pitcher by sweet nectar produced around the
slippery rim of the trap. When an insect lands on the rim, it
slips into the pitcher and drowns in the fluid at the bottom.

IF YOU SEE
35
YOU MAY BE IN FOR TROUBLE!
Ever wondered what causes color blindness? A defect in the
retina or other nerve portions of the eye brings about the
inability to distinguish between red and green or maybe blue and
yellow. A specially developed image is used for testing a person
for colour blindness. The image has been designed in such a
manner that those with normal vision will see the number '57'
while those with an inability to distinguish between red and
green will see the number '35'. |

PANCAKE TORTOISE
No,
this is not a recipe for a pancake made of tortoise meat.
Pancake tortoise is a species of tortoises found mostly in East
Africa. We all know that tortoises have hard-domed shells that
are fairly heavy. We also know that the tortoise moves very
slowly. But this particular species of tortoise has a flat-soft
shell. The pancake tortoise uses this flattened shape of its
shell to hide under stones in order to escape predators. What’s
more, the light shells allow the pancake tortoise to move
considerably faster than the regular tortoise. |

Chaplin in colour !
Charlie
Chaplin in colour? What a joke, one would say. For millions of
fans of the comic actor, who have seen him in only in silent era
black-and-white films, there is surprise in store. Unseen
footage of the comic legend, including film outtakes, backstage
glimpses and family home movies is to be released for the first
time on DVD. It includes colour footage of Chaplin on sets as he
was making his black-and-white film The Great Dictator (1940), a
satire of Nazi Germany, in which he dances with actress Grace
Hale and goose-steps as they whirl around the dancefloor. The
DVDs will include 18 of his films, including The Kid, made in
1921, The Gold Rush (1925) and City Lights (1931). |

EXERCISE
SHOULD BE FUN
It
is true that regular exercising helps in decreasing stress. But
before starting on an exercise programme you need to ask
yourself what kind of exercise you would really like to do. If
you hate waking up early in the morning and setting out to jog,
it might not be the best routine to opt for. The whole idea of
exercise to fight stress is that you should enjoy what you are
doing. A long walk after dinner, or on your way back home from
work or college is something that you might find more relaxing.
Opt for it rather than an exercise routine that you don't like
as it will only add to your stress. |
