Amisha Patel in troubled waters?

Here’s another piece of news which has just trickled in. It seems that the whole world is gunning for Amisha Patel. If certain rumours are to be believed, the Patel girl has rubbed quite a few people up the wrong way. First an ad filmmaker, A. H Siddiqui went public with his allegations that working with Amisha Patel was his worst nightmare. Now there are rumours that Amisha demanded a hefty amount from Rahul Rawail for his film Jo Bole So Nihaal. As a result, Rawail dropped her like a hot potato. We hope it’s just another bit of gossip!

Uday Chopra in the midst of controversy!

Uday Chopra finds himself in the midst of controversy. Uday’s film, Supari, which released recently, stars Rahul Dev, Akash Saigal and Nandita Das. Apparently, if rumour is to be believed, quite a few scenes with the other actors have been cut and it now looks like an Uday Chopra movie all the way. But the actors and director deny any such thing was done. Whom to believe?

Lara Dutta has religious problems!

Being the daughter of a Punjabi father and a Catholic mother, Lara Dutta was quite taken aback when certain people began claiming that she had changed her religion in order to get a flat in Bandra’s Catholic Society. The lady, who has just delivered a hit in Andaaz, claims that she has always been a Catholic like her mother and sister and the rumours were completely false.

John going hot

The door-bell hasn’t stopped ringing. His date diary is chock-a-block with shooting schedules.

He has six movies in hand, but John Abraham has his feet firmly planted on terra firma. But talk about his latest movie — Vikram Bhatt’s Saaya — and the man exudes excitement.

‘‘Saaya deals with loss, emotions and internal love,’’ explains John. ‘‘Contrary to what most people believe, the basic idea behind Saaya is not to scare the audience, but to drive home the message that one might lose someone, but eternal love lives forever.’’

There is an air of confidence in the voice. And it all began with Jism. Still basking in the success of his first major hit, John makes no secret of the fact that Jism has worked wonders for his celluloid career. ‘‘By God’s grace, I have managed a positive response, but this is not to say that I am not planning to go a step further with Saaya,’’ he says ‘‘I expect Saaya to do well, not because I feature in the film, but because it is a sensible product. I play a young Delhi-based doctor in the film.’’ Which brings us to his new heroine Tara Sharma. ‘‘She was very cooperative on the sets and is just brilliant as an actress. I certainly enjoyed working with her.’’

The Mr Cool Guy of modelling has become hot property on the film circuit. Not least of all because acceptance by the audience has earned him a string of assignments. ‘‘Coming up are Aitbaar with Amitabh Bachchan and Bipasha Basu; Ahmed Khan’s untitled film with Sunny Deol and Sunil Shetty; and Pooja Bhatt’s Paap,’’ he informs. ‘‘I love doing all kinds of roles — roles which both I and the audience can identify with.’’
