How to
always have enough money
How
often have you heard yourself saying, ‘I wish I had a little
more money’? Are you always waiting for the next raise?Do you
always find yourself short of cash when you want to make a big
investment? Are you always left with less than ‘enough’?If you
answer 'yes' to any one of the above questions, here’s how you
can ensure that what you earn is always enough for you. Your
problem is in figuring out how to live within your means. As
your income level goes up, your appetite for things—right from
the basics to the luxuries—goes up. You tend to increase your
daily spending levels, according to the increase in your
income level. There’s nothing wrong with that. Nevertheless,
keep a check of where your money is going. If you ensure that
you buy only what you really need and what you really want,
you will soon always find ‘enough’ money. In fact, as you
become more and more disciplined with your spending habits,
you will soon have ‘more than enough’ to spend. |

Badminton Originated in India
Many
believe that badminton originated in England, and that it is in
fact an offshoot of tennis. But while the game’s name certainly
sounds very British, as does shuttlecock, badminton is an
ancient game that originated in India, where it was called
Poona! British army officers who played the game there in the
nineteenth century brought it back to Great Britain. In 1873,
the Duke of Beaufort entertained his guests with the game at a
party he hosted in his home that was in Badminton, England.
That’s how Poona received its badminton name. |

Create Success
Success
is like an eager guest knocking at your door, waiting to be let
in. If you shut your door to the guest he is going to be
disheartened and will try other options. Approaching success is
an art, you need not over-stretch limited resources or try
beyond your means to achieve success. Wisely using what you have
is more than sufficient. What you are seeking to achieve in the
outside world is actually present within you. You have nurtured
and created it within your soul and self, it needs to be
re-discovered. Positive thinking is one such resource which is
well within your reach and should be used to be successful. |

What is an FTP
Programme ?
IF
you’re planning to put up your own web site (and who isn’t,
these days), you should know what an FTP programme is. Even if
you aren’t nurturing such ambitions, it helps to keep abreast of
Net technologies. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. It is
the Internet method of uploading and downloading files. A good
FTP programme will help you transfer files and make your job of
managing your web site easier. There are various FTP programmes
available in the market, one of them being WS FTP. You can also
download free copies of these programmes from certain websites.
WS FTP95 Pro, for instance, can be downloaded free (it has
limited features, however) from Ipswitch.com. |

Keeping Fresh on a Hot Day
YES,
it’s hot, and you feel sapped of all energy. Here’s one quick way
of reviving yourself: splash ice-hold water on your face. It
will bring back the colour to your face, as cold water does
wonders for your blood circulation, thereby making you look
fresh as a rose. What’s more, the effect can last for several
hours.
However, if you start feeling hot and listless once again,
repeat the splashing, as often as possible. For people who use
no make up, this is one super way of staying naturally fresh all
day long. If you do use makeup, you can try this remedy at home
once you’ve removed the makeup. The ice-cold water will
rejuvenate your skin. Rubbing a piece of ice also helps. |

An Octopus Look Alike
APART
from the fact that it has a tongue twisting name ‘Welwitschia’
this woody plant that grows in the desert areas of Namibia and
Angola resembles an octopus! The plant starts out with just two
leaves that during the process of growth get parted into various
sections. And a full-grown plant ends up looking like an
octopus. And guess what, this plant has a whopping lifespan of
several hundred years! Such a long lifespan in the desert is
made possible by a long water absorbent taproot, which goes deep
below the ground and is capable of absorbing the slightest
amount of moisture it comes across. |
