Bid for New Delhi Railway Station

5000 crore for the modernization of the new Delhi Railway Station. In the fray is Mukesh Ambani Reliance infrastructure, Anil Ambani ADAG group, GMR, GVK and L &T with due aim to make it the face of Delhi in the run up of the common wealth games, the railway minister is looking to turn the new Delhi railway station into a world class facility modeled in the famous Beijing and Kowloon station in china. It is expected to cater to 7 lac passengers and more then 300 trains every day said an official. The project will take up 86 hectares of prime land around the present station and is estimated to cost around 5000 crore. The station currently handles over 3,50,000 passengers daily with around 250 trains arrived and departing from its 12 platforms.

Like international airport s there will be segregated corridor s for incoming and outgoing passengers besides having commercial centers with food courts, ATM`S, AC rest rooms , shopping plaza, books shops and touch screen television to provide information to passengers.
