Ujjain, In a bid to end queues and make it easy for devotees to offer prayers at the famous Mahakal Temple here, the authorities have decided to start a Mahakal Bhasma aarti entry booking process online from January 14 this year on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
The Temple administration has got its website www.mahakaleshwar.nic.in made and a click on bhasma aarti link there will lead one to an application form seeking your name, age, address, scanned passport size photo, Identity documents and the date for which the 'darshan' is sought.
Four persons can apply on one application and at least one photo and ID proof of a devotee is a must. If the darshan is available an instant confirmation is then displayed, said Temple administrator, Jayant Joshi.
An entry pass is then printed and presented at the time of entry alongwith original identity documents registered at the time of booking, he said.
Those who drop application directly at the counter, a computerised receipt with code would be given to them and later those who are granted permission for darshan will be informed through SMS, he said.
He said that 25 per cent quota for a visit to the Nandi Grah has been earmarked for online booking and 125 passes for darshan behind the barricades have also been reserved.
The administrator said that a high-tech bhasma aarti counter has been made near the front gate for those who directly come up at the temple to seek entry passes.
Joshi said that there would be no charge or fee either online or offline mode and added that this plan will benefit outsiders. The booking can be done 15 days in advance.
