Shiv Sena urges Hindus to have more kids

INDIA may be reeling through the acute problem of population explosion and most likely to be the most populated country in the world in a short span of time. But this seems to have impact on the think-tank of Shiv Sena. The Shiv Sena has hit upon a bizarre idea to counter what it claims is the growing population of Muslims in Uttar Pradesh.

The right wing outfit has given a call to Hindu couples in the State to have more children and decided to reward those families who have more than four children.

Justifying such a call, Sena MP Chandrakant Khaire told rediff.com in Mumbai that family planning measures were supposed to be followed by all communities. "But the Muslims are not adopting family planning measures and therefore the Sena’s call to Hindus to have more children is a form of protest," Khaire said.

Boyfriends – dream not to be ‘husbands’

IT’S a very bad news for ‘boyfriends’ who dream to be ‘husbands’ one day. Because of modern girls who have become cleverer over the years and want to warn their boyfriends to not be over-possessive and forget the relationship as a passing phase/part and parcel of college life.

This is because a survey of teenage girls in Kerala reveals that 74 per cent think a boyfriend is a good idea but 98 per cent prefer an arranged marriage.

These and other paradoxical insights into Kerala society today were revealed in a survey conducted by Vanita, a leading women’s magazine in the State.

The survey covered women between the ages of 17 and 20 in college campuses in the three major cities of Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.

Besides the fact that girls might like boyfriends but would like to go in for a conventional arranged match because love marriages were too risky.

This seems to be a classic replay of the adage that the more things change the more they remain same!

TRUE to their name of Ardhangini — as a wife is called in Hindu mythology, the wives of top leaders of the BJP and Congress in Rajasthan were active enough in the last Assembly polls by pacifying rebels, campaigning for the party candidates etc.

Election campaigning in Jodhpur gathered momentum on when Sheetal Kumari, wife of Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh Jasol, and Sunita Gehlot, wife of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, began seeking votes in the high-profile Sardarpura constituency of Jodhpur.

No food, no water but alive for 65 yrs

A 76-year-old man in Gujarat has baffled the medical fraternity by claiming that he has been living without food and water for 65 years.

Prahlad Jani, who lives in a cave near the Ambaji temple in north Gujarat, was brought to a local hospital in Ahmedabad after requests by his followers that he be examined.

The Association of Physics of Ahmedabad (APA) conducted all kinds of tests on Jani for 10 days. A 20-member team of doctors was formed to observe Jani. He claims that the Matha has blessed him with this unique ability to survive without food and water.

"It is a challenge to medical science. He has not taken any food or liquid for last 10 days and not passed urine and stool," confirmed Dr. Dinesh Desai, Deputy Superintendent of the Sterling Hospital.

Jani says that he gets a trickle of fluid he calls ‘amrit’ from a hole in his palate, the divide between the nasal and oral cavities, which helps him survive without food or water.

The baffled medical team has been sharing its findings with the Delhil- based Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Science (DIPAS) as it could have wide-ranging applications in defence and space science.

Viagra getting the ire of feminists!

VIAGRA may have helped many old persons in rediscovering their youth but it is going to get the ire of feminists soon. The reasons are probably the increasing cases of divorce by the users of anti-impotency drug --- Viagra. Experts are saying a divorce warning should accompany Viagra. According to The Herald Sun, this new finding comes after US lawyers are finding themselves beset with dozens of divorces as caused by the husband’s use of Viagra.

Abraham Morgantaler’s new book, The Viagra Myth, says that leading the brigade are men in their 50s, who use their new lease on sexual life to cheat on their wives, especially with younger women.
